A 13-year-old was forced off his fatbike in Diemen. A year on, police are showing the robber’s face.
A boy of 13 was ordered off his fatbike on the Tureluurweg in Diemen and his phone was thrown into the road. One robber has been arrested. Police are now showing the face of the other.
A boy of 13 was riding his fatbike along the Tureluurweg in Diemen when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned round to 2 young men sharing a fatbike of their own. One of them shouted at him to get off. Frightened of what might happen next, he handed the bike over.
That was on 5 July 2025. More than a year later, police are showing the face of the man who rode away on it, because they still do not know who he is. On their own channels police describe the bike as one the boy needs for his health.
The phone thrown into the road
The boy lost more than the bike. His phone was clipped into a holder on the handlebars, and it went with it. Camera footage shows the thief throwing the phone away as he rides off. A passer-by picked it up and handed it in to police.
One of the 2 has since been arrested. The one on the camera images, the one who took the bike, has not. Police say he may still be a minor himself.
The bike is distinctive, and it is still out there
Police are asking for 2 things: who the young man on the footage is, and where the bike is now. It is an “E-Father” model made by La Souris, fitted with Compass tyres and a phone holder.
