The Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix returns to Circuit Zandvoort from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 August 2026, and the organiser is selling it as the last one. After what it calls five incredible years of Formula 1 history in Zandvoort, the 2026 edition is marketed as The Final Lap. The weekend also brings a first: the opening F1 Sprint ever held on Dutch soil.

Why it matters

Since its return in 2021, the Dutch Grand Prix has been one of the biggest sporting weekends on the national calendar. If the organiser’s final-edition framing holds, 2026 is the closing chapter at Zandvoort, with a new Sprint format added for the send-off. One planning note: the Lowlands festival runs the same three days in Biddinghuizen, so two major crowd events share the same weekend.

Race weekend schedule

As listed by formula1.com:

  • Friday 21 August: Practice 1 from 10:30 to 11:30, Sprint Qualifying from 14:30 to 15:14
  • Saturday 22 August: Sprint from 10:00 to 11:00, Qualifying from 14:00 to 15:00
  • Sunday 23 August: Grand Prix at 13:00, over 72 laps of the 4.259 km circuit

Tickets

Weekend tickets covering Saturday and Sunday are sold out, per the organiser. Friday-only Super Friday tickets and premium GOLD+ packages were still listed as available in late July 2026.

Common questions

When is the race?

The Grand Prix starts on Sunday 23 August 2026 at 13:00.

Is this really the last Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort?

That is how the organiser presents it: the 2026 edition is branded The Final Lap and marketed as the final chance after five years of Formula 1 at Zandvoort.

What is new this year?

The first F1 Sprint on Dutch soil, on Saturday morning at 10:00, with Sprint Qualifying on Friday afternoon.

Can I still get tickets?

Saturday and Sunday weekend tickets are sold out. The organiser was still offering Friday-only Super Friday tickets and GOLD+ packages in late July 2026.

What else happens that weekend?

The Lowlands festival runs the same three days in Biddinghuizen, so travel across the country is likely to be busy that weekend.
