Lowlands, officially A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise, is a three-day music and arts festival held on the events grounds at Walibi Holland in Biddinghuizen, Flevoland. The 2026 edition runs from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 August. The festival counts around 65,000 visitors on site for the weekend, which makes it a temporary town in the Flevoland polder, complete with twelve stages, restaurants, a cinema and its own radio station.

Lowlands works differently from most large Dutch festivals. There are no day tickets at all. Everyone buys a weekend pass that covers three festival days and four nights of camping, and the campsite opens a full day before the music starts. That set-up shapes the atmosphere: living on the site is as much a part of the event as the programme itself.

What happens at Lowlands

Music is the backbone, but the programme deliberately reaches wider, with a cinema and a theatre alongside the stages. In total about 250 acts and performances are spread across twelve stages in three large areas. The festival also runs a dedicated science strand under the name LL Science.

The site itself carries a lot of the appeal. Beyond the stages there are dozens of restaurants from various cuisines, a market with shops, sports facilities, a sauna and hot tub area, and a radio station broadcasting from the grounds.

Dates, venue and camping

Lowlands 2026 takes place from 21 to 23 August at Evenemententerrein Walibi Holland, Bijsselseweg 31 in Biddinghuizen. The campsite opens on Thursday 20 August at 09:00, and everyone has to be off the grounds by Monday 24 August at 12:00. A standard ticket therefore covers four nights under canvas.

A spot on the regular festival campsite for your own tent is included in the weekend ticket. Anyone wanting more comfort can book separately ticketed options such as camper spots, group camping pitches, party spots or the festival’s glamping offer, Gllamcamp. The campsites have bathhouses with hot showers, toilets and drinking water, open around the clock from Thursday evening until Monday morning.

The campsite rules are strict on a few points:

  • Each visitor may bring up to eight litres of drinks onto the campsite, in factory-sealed original packaging and non-alcoholic or low in alcohol.
  • Glass, glass bottles and drinks above 15 per cent alcohol are banned on the campsite.
  • On the festival grounds you may bring one empty container of up to 0.5 litres to fill with free water. Cans and outside food are not allowed there.
  • Small gas cartridges of up to 250 grams are allowed for cooking; larger gas installations are not.

Tickets and official information

A weekend ticket for Lowlands 2026 costs €365, including tourist tax and service fees. That price covers the three festival days, four nights on the regular campsite and the shuttle bus between Lelystad railway station and the site. Tickets went on sale on 7 February at 11:00 through Ticketmaster Netherlands and are issued as mobile-only QR codes in the Ticketmaster app. Each buyer can order a maximum of eight tickets, and customers of the Dutch Ticketmaster shop can choose to pay in three instalments through Klarna.

Lowlands also sells a Collector Card version of the ticket, a physical festival pass worn on a lanyard. For current availability of festival tickets and camping add-ons, check the official ticket page on lowlands.nl.

Common questions

Can I buy a day ticket for Lowlands?

No. Lowlands sells weekend tickets only. The organisers frame the festival as three days of building something together, and day passes do not fit that. A wristband gives access around the clock for the whole weekend.

Is camping included in the ticket?

Yes. A place on the regular festival campsite for your own tent is part of the weekend ticket, along with shuttle transport to and from Lelystad station. Camper spots, group pitches and Gllamcamp glamping require extra tickets.

Is there a minimum age?

There is no formal minimum age, but the organisers state that Lowlands is not a suitable place for anyone under 16. Visitors under 18 receive a different wristband and cannot buy alcohol. Valid ID is required at the entrance.

How do I get to the festival?

A free shuttle bus runs between Lelystad railway station and the festival grounds, and this transport is included in the weekend ticket. The venue address is Bijsselseweg 31, Biddinghuizen. Coach, train and parking tickets are sold separately.

What if I need accessible facilities?

The festival provides extra accessible facilities for visitors who need them, covering things like mobility aids, dietary needs and specialised sanitation. The organisers ask you to request these in advance by emailing [email protected], with requests due before Friday 31 July at 12:00.
